World Series of Backgammon III TBA on Nordic OpenWorld Series of Backgammon (WSOB) will be announcing their plans for the third season of the tour and television show during the 21st Play65 Nordic Open backgammon tournament, scheduled to begin this weekend, from 9 April until the 13th of April.
According to the WSOB website, the company founders, Andy Bell and Eric Guedj, will announce their plans for the third, expanded 2009 season of the estimated European backgammon tour. At the same opportunity, they intend to reveal the planned broadcast scheduled of the previous season closing events the WSOB Riviera Cup and WSOB Championship on the Eurosport 2 channel.
It is implied that the WSOB 2009 tour dates have been delayed due to the property issues with Partouche Interactive, one of the major shareholders. And "following several months of negotiations… Bell and Guedj have now reached agreement to acquire the WSOB business."
It was previously posted on the WSOB website that the third season of the tour will be launched with the UK Masters, the same backgammon tourney that has launched last year's tour.
