The life and Fashion Statements of a Poker Intern

How can you recognize a poker intern? By the rubber band on his wrist, obviously; a rubber band that will come in handy whenever a need to hold a wad of cash rises.

"One thing is for certain: if it works out, it will make for incredible blogging." With those words, Jobless (Nate) had summed up his decision to start a poker internship. A decision that led him, among other things, to a backgammon game in Bali, with a star cast that features Falafel, Sander (Lylloff?) and Peter (Jes Thomsen?), all from the top of the Giants of Backgammon list, in addition to a group of poker gamblers who want a piece of the action.

Like many other poker pros, Jobless gaming career started in chess, a game he stopped playing competitively in high school to avoid the its domination on his life. Still, he uses his chess skills to restore lost chess positions and wishes he could share the game's beauty with others. Plus, he is confident that poker will not take control of his life the same way chess did back in high school: he does not like the game especially, he finds poker strategy too easy, and playing professionally a game he does not especially likes, keeps him objective and "at a lower risk for becoming addicted".

So what about backgammon?

A group of nine backgammon and poker players flew to Bali to attend a high stakes backgammon game. Five of them are backgammon experts while the rest of the group consists of the recent World Series of Poker champion, someone who "understands he's a dog, but wants to play", "a deceptively shrewd gambler", and a new poker intern. One thing for certain, it does make incredible blogging.
