Meribel Backgammon Tournament Sponsored by Play65The Meribel Backgammon Tournament, which will be initiated next week at a ski resort in a French alpine village, announced adding online backgammon room Play65 to their list of sponsors. On the occasion of the sponsorship, Play65 has added a special backgammon bonus for the participants of the Meribel Tournament who are members of the popular backgammon room.
The Meribel Backgammon Association can teach everyone a lesson in organizing a backgammon tournament from scratch. Maybe it is the timing, on 10th-13th December, when the international backgammon community suffers a shortage in large scaled events, but on the other hand, ski season just begins; or the location, in a beautiful ski resort between France and Switzerland, offering special side events such as a an extreme tournament on the top of the mountain; or the combination of the two.
Anyhow, the Meribel Backgammon Tournament has occupied the biggest backgammon players, well established tournament directors (backgammon rising star Scarlett Serrero has joined Mike Main and Clive Kaye as the tournament assistant) and a long line of sponsors including local hotel, bar, ski school, backgammon software Snowie and online game Play65, which together added €5000 to the prize pool and decreased the registration fee to zero.
