Jarvis Trophy 2009 ResultsThe 2009 Jarvis Trophy held on the first February weekend at the Barceló Daventry Hotel in unexpected frigid weather conditions. Nevertheless, 42 British backgammon players wore their entire wardrobes and attended the traditional event. The 2009 Jarvis Trophy was taken home by Michael Bennett who won 6 out of the 6 games played. Unfortunately, he was not in the Winner-Takes-All prize fund, thus the £300 prize fund rolls over to the next month BIBA tournament.
2009 Jarvis Trophy champion Michael Bennett was followed by Peter Bennett on the 2nd position, Sean Williams in number 3 and Neil Everitt in number 4 with 5 wins each. Three players, Lee Wood, Marcus Wrinch and Myke Wignall, competed on the consolation division championship, until a tie breaker named Lee Wood as the winner. Wood had also championed the Friday 500 event, while his runner up, Andy Darby, championed the poker tournament.
