From Cluedo Murder Solving to Actual Criminal Profiling? If the lesson learned from backgammon computers can benefit American football coaching, then why can't it do good to serous games such as landmines clearing and criminal investigating analysis? Artificial intelligent researches from Duke University, North Carolina claim that the same mathematical model built to solve the board game "Cluedo" (known in the States as "Clue"), can assist in solving other mysteries such as the existence of hidden explosives in residential zones, "security surveillance, airborne drone guidance or even criminal profiling."
According to the leading researcher, Prof. Chenghui Cai of Duke University Computer and Electrical Engineering department, the act of solving the murder mystery in the Cluedo game and the mine sweeping proceed are conducted by the same principles; both are wandering through an unfamiliar area, looking for clues. To succeed, the Clue player as well as the criminal analyzer "is to not only take in the new information it discovers, but to use this new information to help guide its next move".
