Backgammon Tournaments in the UKNovember was full of backgammon events in the UK. Right before the UK Masters, the first event in this year World Series of Backgammon tour, came to town, local backgammon tournaments acted as sattelite tournament to the WSOB event. Tournament attendances could ensure their participation in the UK Masters event by winning.
UK Masters was great. The 4 days event was held at the new posh Casino at The Empire, at Leicester Square. The best backgammon players in the world were in: Gus Hansen, John Clark, "Falafel" Natanzon, and more. The first two places were conqured by English men: the new champion is John Hurst, from the Battersea Backgammon Club and the runner-up is Shino Kazuhir. Finally, some local pride to UK backgammon fans!
