Back in the 70's, backgammon had a very stylish image... Just look at these images

Today, backgammon has a much more casual image than it had on the glamorous 70s. If now, the most suitable location for a backgammon game is the beach, the park or a local market in some exotic middle eastern town, back in the 1970s, backgammon games used to be played on yachts, casino hotels  or other luxurious sets. At least if you believe commercials...
