Backgammon Haikus

One thing for sure: backgammon brings out unfamiliar aspects of people. Some turn into aggressive beasts when they smell backgammon match while others become glazed-eyed poets when they think of backgammon

The online backgammon magazine "GammOnLine " publishes, among other things, a selection of backgammon haikus by backgammon expert Phil Simborg. Yes, you've heard me.

Some selected examples:

Backgammon Haiku no. 1

"Watching the dice come up cocked

Very much like my first marriage."

Backgammon Haiku no. 2

"Watching him gammon me with that smirk on his face

Wishing I had a gun."

Just for your information, Haiku, according to the Wikipedia, is a poetry mode originated in 19th century Japan. A traditional haiku poem, consists of three lines. The first and last line is made of 5 syllables while the middle line contains 7 syllables.
